HENRIQUE can still become a Queens Park Rangers player according to Sao Paolo vice president Joao Lopes

The highly-regarded Brazilian Under-20 international was declined a work permit earlier this week, but QPR have not given up hope of snaring the South American starlet.

The original structure of the deal was reportedly the main reason for the rejection of the work permit, and should QPR purchase Henrique outright then the chances of a transfer being sanctioned are far greater.

Joao Lopes told Globo Sport: ‘In fact, his work permit was not denied.’

‘The FA would only give him the green light if it was a permanent transfer.

‘The FA did not agree to the transfer that had been proposed. Now both parties will meet again to try to come to an agreement.’

It is now hoped that QPR can tie up a permanent deal for the young forward who has already stated a desire to work under boss Mark Hughes.
