Paul Tierney from Lancashire will referee his first Championship fixture as QPR host Plymouth Argyle this weekend.

A new addition to the National List of Referees this season Mr Tierney has taken charge of 12 fixtures thus far this season.

The former linesman has broken through this season taking charge of Macclesfield’s 4-0 home defeat by nouveau-riche Notts County.

Seven League Two games in total, along with three League One fixtures makes Mr Tierney an inexperienced official at this level.

This season Mr Tierney has taken charge of 12 games, dishing out 30 yellows and two reds, giving him an average of 2.67 cards per game.
