QUEENS Park Rangers finally got points on the board away from Loftus Road, with a stellar performance crowning a victory over relegation rivals Sunderland.

In what appears to be Chris Ramsey’s final game in caretaker charge, Rangers not only put in a display brimming with passion and commitment, but with a game plan executed to perfection.

Ramsey’s men riled the home crowd as they swept a sloppy Sunderland side away in a memorable opening period.

First it was Matt Phillips who made an angle and crossed for Leroy Fer to nod beyond Costel Pantilimon with aplomb and net his fourth of the season.

Philips – now visibly buoyed by his productivity down the right – produced the second before half time. This time Bobby Zamora was on the end of his centre to clip home right-footed from the edge of the area.

A distinguished finish from Zamora to round off a dominant opening half for the visitors, who were able to call on Rob Green to produce some stunning saves to deny the home side.

A second half that saw Michael Doughty make his Premier League debut, was seen out in a professional manner as Rangers stopped the rot to claim their first points on their travels this season.
