According to a national broadcaster QPR have turned down a bid from Wolves for midfielder Mikele Leigertwood.

The story emanating from Sky Sports says that Mick McCarthy is a keen admirer of the former Crystal Palace and Sheffield United man.

However Rangers have turned down an offer earlier this week, as Wolves face stiff competition for his signature from Premier League Bolton Wanderers.

26 year old Leigertwood has put in some sporadic performances at the heart of the Rangers midfield, with the versatile midfielder occasionally playing right of a diamond, at right back or in the holding role currently occupied by Gavin Mahon.

Mikele has made 63 appearances since joining the R`s on deadline day in August 2007, he has also bagged five goals from the centre of the park.

  • Once again if the bid was good I would sell I think – however I would NOT sell to Wolves. It would be foolish to sell to a potential rival and I’d rather he went to Bolton.

  • Boxer, Wolves are too far ahead to be considered rivals. Only idwe have Watson or someone as good coming should Legs be sold.

  • I agree wiv Boxer, we shouldn’t sell Legs to any other Championship side – that’s not good business from our point of view! We dont want him turning on the stile against us!! If he has to go, it should be for a cracking good sum and to a Prem team, like Bolton – with someone better than him lined up!!
