CHRIS Ramsey cut a frustrated figure as he laments Rangers’ defending in the last gasp defeat against Chelsea

Despite remaining upbeat about Rangers’ chances of survival, the QPR boss could not get away from his sides’ lost concentration at the death – allowing Cesc Fabregas to win the match for the below-par visitors.

‘I’m obviously very, very disappointed,’ he told QPR.co.uk

‘I thought we could have got something from the game. We showed we can compete, despite the late goal.

‘It’s the detail that kills you. Chelsea have got players who can pass the ball, arrive in good places and finish.’

Ramsey was rather surprisingly scathing given the way that Rangers performed throughout – serving to underline the higher standards expected and the gravity of a lost point at home.

He continued: ‘It only takes one or two shots for the top players to score. From our point of view, we`re disappointed because we`ve conceded similar goals over the past couple of weeks.

‘I feel sorry for the QPR fans, who were fantastic all afternoon. To not even get a point is disappointing. I’m absolutely sick tonight, especially for the supporters. They and the players deserved more, but you just can’t afford to switch off – like we did – at this level.’

Ramsey added: ‘We’ve got ourselves to blame for where we are in the table. Our concentration levels have not been good and we’ve let in a lot of late goals. That means you end up being disappointed more often than not.

‘You can’t blame Rob Green. Granted it wasn’t one of his better clearances, but the manner in which we defended it thereafter was shambolic.’

The QPR boss can now look forward to a week off before a test against West Ham United – fast appearing to be a must-win game for Rangers.
