Young striker Antonio German has had his recent form rewarded with a new contract.

The striker has impressed in recent fixtures, none more so than against Doncaster last weekend, and has been deemed worthy of a new deal.

German’s current contract will now take him up to the summer of 2012, which owes much to the impressive attitude shown to boss Mick Harford.

Harford told QPR.co.uk: ‘Antonio’s broken into the First Team and done very well. He looks hungry around the training ground, hungry on the pitch and when he trains, he’s got a fantastic attitude.

‘He wants to be a footballer and if he keeps his feet on the ground, keeps working hard and keeps doing the right things, then hopefully he’ll progress and become a good player.’

Harford added: ‘When I first came to QPR he wasn’t really involved with the First Team. But he asked me if he could train with us and I liked that attitude.’

The striker may well partner Jay Simpson once again this weekend as the R’s travel to Middlesbrough.

The young forward that joined Rangers at the age of 14 is said to be learning alot from a former striker in Harford – not too much though hopefully!
