Queens Park Rangers have rejected an offer from Southampton for defender Kaspars Gorkss.

The defender has been persistently linked with a move to St Marys this summer, primarily as a make way for winger Jason Puncheon to come the other way.

As the link with the ex-Plymouth Argyle has subsided, so the Saints reported interest in the Latvian has grown with the Daily Mail stating that Rangers have rejected a £750k move.

Bristol City and Leeds United have also reportedly displayed an interest in the defender who helped QPR achieve their formidable rearguard action last season, the very foundation of their promotion exploits.

It seems that Gorkss is destined to leave W12 after three years in the capital, with QPR seemingly holding out for a seven-figure sum.
