QPR Linked With Former Bournemouth Captain

|

Yesterday evening reports surfaced linking Queens Park Rangers manager Steve McClaren with a possible move for Aston Villa centre-half Tommy Elphick.

The 30-year-old former Bournemouth skipper made the switch to Villa Park back in the summer of 2016 but he only had 35 appearances to his name and seems to be constantly overlooked following a poor start to life at the club.

He spent the second half of last season out on loan with Reading, but was restricted to only four appearances as injury-hit to ruin the spell, but had Reading’s transfer window gone differently it was heavily suggested they would’ve come back in for him as he did impress in the little they saw.

With three appearances to his name for Steve Bruce so far this campaign, their manager continues to prefer midfielder Mile Jedinak in the backline, so it’s suggested by Sky Sports that we might be tempted to see if a deal can be done.

With only a few days left in the summer loan window, we’ll soon see if there is anything in this.
