QUEENS Park Rangers have been relegated from the Premier League in spineless fashion as they were royally thumped by Manchester City.

The visitors embarrassed themselves in emphatic fashion as Sergio Aguero ran riot at the Etihad over some utterly shambolic defending.

Any slender hope of a miracle were dashed by the Argentine Aguero as he rode several powderpuff challenges before lifting the ball over a beleaguered Rob Green.

Rangers offered nothing in riposte and City had their second when Aleksander Kolarov curled the ball around a static wall to compound the misery among a depleted travelling support.

Yun Suk Young’s cataclysmic error on the halfway line rather compounded the appalling lack of concentration from this QPR side as Aguero took the ball from the South Korean, ran clear through on goal and slotted beyond Green.

The fourth came from the spot at Phillips upended David Silva and Aguero was handed the third of one of the easiest hatrick he’ll have in his distinguished career.

James Milner tapped in a fifth when Aguero neatly squared for the England international before Silva rounded off the rout by walking the ball around an unguarded Green and slotting home.

Inexplicably Shaun Wright-Phillips was afforded a few minutes on the field as a swan song – serving only to rub salt in the wounds of some already mistreated supporters.

Two years later but Rangers are once more left to count the cost of breathtaking mismanagement from top to bottom as they slip effortlessly into into the Championship.
