QPR Set For A Posh Encounter In EFL Cup Rd 1

|

With the draw announced for the first round of the EFL Cup for the coming 2018/19 campaign, Queens Park Rangers will host Steve Evans’ Peterborough United.

Full ticket details and a firm date will be announced shortly but the game is set to take place during the week of Monday, August 13th.

The EFL Cup has had some rules changed this season, extra time has been removed and a match will now go straight to penalties (up to the semi-final stage) and penalty shootouts go back to the ABAB format following last year’s ABBA trial.

Following the draw, the main reaction from QPR fans centred around the topic of striker Conor Washington following his earlier switch between both sides back in 2016. With a return of 14 goals in 60 starting appearances and 32 substitute showings, fans remain torn on his time at the club so far, but a few think this season he’ll take Loftus Road by storm under former England manager Steve McClaren.

Some thought it was an opportunity for the club to give a tiny bit back to the fanbase and gave other comments.
