QUEENS Park Rangers are out of the Capital One Cup after being edged out at home by Reading.

Twice the home side relinquished an advantage to eventually be dumped out by the newly-promoted Royals.

Junior Hoilett scored his first goal for QPR before Rangers old boy Kaspars Gorkss struck the leveller.

Once again Rangers came back strong and Djibril Cissé gave Mark Hughes a timely reminder of his ability to make it 2-1.

Full-back Nicky Shorey – re-signed by Reading this summer, levelled once more for the visitors whose steely edge and resilence would see them in front.

Russian Pavel Pogrebnyak had a field day for Fulham in W12 last year, and netted what proved to be the winner with just under ten minutes remaining.

The summer signing even had time to miss a penalty – smartly saved by Julio Cesar, but the disappointment for Mark Hughes was evident as Rangers exit the Capital One Cup.
