Once again Rangers are being linked with a striker – this time from recently relegated side Portsmouth.
Neil Warnock is being liked with the signature of former Watford and Derby County front-man Tommy Smith by The Mirror this morning.
The striker – who has been a target for Scottish side Glasgow Rangers in recent days – was linked with QPR during Paul Hart’s brief tenure in W12.
The Gers had a £300,000 bid branded as ‘derisory’ towards the end of last week – with the South-Coast side slapping a £1.5m price-tag on the striker.
According to the latest report Rangers are to test Pompey’s resolve with an initial £500,000 bid as Warnock continues to survey his striking options.
