Daniel Parejo came on as a substitute in Spain Under 21`s victory over their Russian counterparts.

Parejo, on loan to Queens Park Rangers from Real Madrid, played his role in Spain Under 21`s 100% record in the group stage of the UEFA Under 21 European Championship Qualifiers.

A 56th minute substitute for Jonathan, Parejo was on the field to see his teammate from Castilla, Juan Manuel Mata, hand the Spaniards the lead, whilst former Manchester United and current Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué doubled the lead.

Manager Juan Ramón López Caro, formerly the manager of Real Madrid, spoke of his delight following the end of the campaign,

‘If we play at our best then we will make it past the knockout round, we played at a spectacular level against Russia”

‘In the first half we may have lacked rhythm slightly, but we managed to create several chances.”
López Caro continued.

‘It was deserved because he has been the keeper in the past few matches and it had nothing to do with anything else.”

Qualifying with a 100% record Spain achieved 24 points in 8 games, thus securing their passage into the playoffs, for which R’s midfielder Daniel Parejo will be hoping to figure.
