With just one goal to his name this term ahead of Cardiff`s home match with Preston at the end of January, Danish striker Kenneth Zohore has been in fine goalscoring form since netting the second in a 2-0 victory over the Lilywhites that has seen him tie level with Anthony Pilkington as the club`s top scorer so far this season.

Having bagged six goals in his last six matches to take his tally to seven, including a brace in each of the side`s previous two league games, the most recent coming in the 2-2 draw at home to Fulham last weekend, the pacy, powerful centre-forward was one of the Championship`s standout performers in last month.

Big things were expected of Zohore after making his debut for FC Copenhagen in the Danish Superliga in March 2010 having not long turned 16, which was followed a few months later by an outing in the Champions League, as he came on for the final 15 minutes of a group game against eventual winners Barcelona at the Nou Camp.

That would be one of five appearances in Europe`s elite competition during his first full season with the first-team squad at his hometown club, which included ties home and away against Chelsea, and at the age of 18, after featuring 16 times for Copenhagen, he was signed by Italian giants Fiorentina in January 2012.

It was a move that in hindsight proved too early for the youngster, as he failed to make a single appearance for La Viola, and after a year-and-a-half of no first team action, he was back in Denmark as Brondby secured his services on a season-long loan ahead of the 2013/2014 campaign, with whom he got off to a goalscoring start.

After just 22 minutes of his debut for the club, he gave them the lead in a match away at FC Midtjylland, which would eventually end in a 5-2 defeat, and in total he would score five goals in 25 league matches before returning to Florence, but he was shortly on the move again, to Sweden, prior to the 2014/2015 season.

He spent a short spell on loan at IFK Gothenburg, netting twice in five appearances, and having been deemed surplus to requirements by his parent club, he left Italy to move permanently back to Denmark in February 2015 with OB Odense, the fifth different club of his career, in an attempt to get his career back on track.

After two goals in the final three months of the season, he failed to find the net in the opening three matches of the 2015/2016 campaign, but after notching his third goal for the club and his first of the new term in mid-August, he went on a run of scoring in seven out of nine league matches up until the start of November.

It was form that saw clubs begin to take an interest in his performances, and in January 2016 he signed for Belgian club Kortrijk on transfer deadline day, owned by Cardiff owner Vincent Tan, before immediately moving to current club Cardiff on loan for the remainder of the season, who were under a transfer embargo.

Following two goals in 12 Championship matches at the back end of last season, Zohore moved to the Welsh capital on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee, and if the Bluebirds can help the 23-year-old finally settle, they look like they could have a serious talent on their hands.
