With reports this week that Queens Park Rangers attacking midfielder Luke Freeman had become the subject of interest for Middlesbrough, West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United, fans are obviously concerned at the speculation linking him with an exit.
In fairness, the original report stems from the Mirror daily transfer ticker so whether or not fans should actually be concerned at this stage is wide open to debate.
The fee talked about though is only £3million and that certainly set tongues wagging on social media given the knowledge that money is tight and the anger at seeing Alex Smithies move on for such a pathetic fee to Cardiff City.
With the money available to the clubs being linked with the man who scored five times and created 12 assists in 2017/18, fans are demanding that we at least hold out for a fair fee given his age on ongoing potential or better still tell them where to go as £3million is another insult in the modern market.
@tonyfernandes If you’re considering selling Freeman it can’t be for no less than 10m. Baring in mind he had a total of 12 Assists and 5 goals last year from midfield. I understand he is replaceable but can’t be for no less that what I & other fans have mentioned.

@tonyfernandes can you make sure you don't sell Luke freeman, why the hell would be want to good up north to sheffield, middlesborough or West Brom. he is a super hoop.

Please if the rumours are true about Freeman don't sell him for any less than 6million because that's his worth. Not 3million or 4!!!! Stop selling on the cheap!! #qpr

I would agree yeah but realisticly we've got tony who's selling smithies for 3.5 mil who in my eyes is a minimum 5 mil keeper then we had Austin going for 4mil easily a 10 mil striker and fee went for peanuts however he's the kiss of death so that was good business lol

That would be brain dead, this close to the season with no January transfer window…… @tonyfernandes @QPR

Luke Freeman is my favourite player. Only a massive fee would tempt me. But it’s not my money! #qpr

Literally. I wouldn’t not be at all surprised

A player's value is what another club is willing to pay. This will go up if a club isn't in a position where they are desperate to sell, which we are. If we can get it up to £5m, it's good business considering what we paid for him.
