FORMER QPR midfielder Liam Miller and current R’s skipper Martin Rowlands are tipped to team up for the Republic of Ireland tomorrow.

Already qualified for the playoffs Ireland are choosing to rest a number of players currently on yellow cards for the home test against Montenegro.

Keith Andrews and Aiden McGeady are two of the names expected to sit out with Fulham’s Damien Duff returning the line-up.

Rowlands came on for the suspended Glenn Whelan against Italy on Saturday and is now expected to start the match alongside former QPR man Liam Miller.

The midfielder currently playing at Hibernian had spells with Celtic, Manchester United and Sunderland before joining the R’s in January.

While Giovanni Trapattoni is keeping his cards close to his chest on this occasion it is expected that Ireland will field Rowlands and Miller at the heart of midfield.

The pair never played together in their time at QPR with Martin Rowlands picking up a knee-ligament injury prior to Miller’s introduction and subsequent release at the end of the season.
