Queens Park Rangers have confirmed that midfielder Josh Scowen is now back in training and back in the mix for the side when the next fixture cycles round.

The 24 year old was ruled out of the game last weekend against Fulham after falling ill at the Harlington Training ground on Friday, and with initial concerns he may have been suffering from appendicitis, those fears have now been allayed following further tests.

Matt May, head of medical services explained to the Official Site.

‘Josh was suffering from a viral infection. The symptoms and area of the discomfort pointed towards suspected appendicitis but follow-up tests have thankfully ruled that out.’

Following those subsequent tests he is back at the training ground this week and has resumed full training and with the side now four unbeaten in the Championship and Scowen having made 36 appearances already this season, that’ll no doubt be good news for Ian Holloway as we prepare for the trip to Reading at the end of the month.
