Ben Watson is available for selection once again but should his re-introduction be a formality after this weekend’s performance.

Of the many possible permutations that could have linked up in the heart of midfield, Magilton punted for Argentinean Alejandro Faurlín and Gavin Mahon.

The partnership, while evidently not first choice, proved highly successful this weekend, with the strength and presence of Mahon combined with the composure and distribution of Faurlín.

Watson had been suspended after his sending off against Swansea City, but this weekend is once again available for selection after a positive start in a QPR shirt.

The question remains whether or not the weekend partnership should be given a starting place this weekend as a reward for their positive performance.

Indeed the problem could the same for Peter Ramage, with Mikele Leigertwood close to his return from a virus that kept him out against Preston North End.

While manager Jim Magilton bemoaned his side’s injury crisis, he now has a selection headache with the replacement players performing admirably.

Magilton made some tough decisions at the weekend in introducing two new midfielders as opposed to moving Ákos Buzsáky into the middle.

He faces a similar decision as players return to the fold, and into a set-up that has thrived at home in recent games.
