Queens Park Rangers have reportedly been set back in their attempts to capture Ipswich Town midfielder Jon Walters.
The Daily Mail are this morning reporting that a bid of £2.5m wasn’t enough to tempt Roy Keane into parting with the Republic of Ireland international.
Walters – who has shown well against Rangers in recent meetings – has missed out on some of Town’s pre-season tour with a virus.
The R’s have previously been interested in his signature under former boss Jim Magilton, but now have reportedly rekindled their interest under Warnock.
His goal under Magilton at Loftus Road was sublime in 2009, and that alone will be enough to encourage Rangers fans of his potential talent.
