Federico Macheda has stated that the Queens Park Rangers supporters were a contributing factor to his decision to sign

The 20-year-old front-man has signed a deal until the end of the current campaign and has been lauded by boss Neil Warnock.

While Warnock waxed lyrical on the young Italian, the striker explained that QPR’s summer recruits and the supporters were key motivators in signing.

‘I was attracted by the challenge and by the players that QPR brought in during the summer,’ he told QPR.co.uk

‘There are some very big players at the Club now and I am really looking forward to training and playing with them.

‘I also know the fans are very, very passionate, and this interested me also.’

Macheda – who scored a goal most recently in a Carling Cup defeat to Crystal Palace – will sport the number 33.

The forward spent some time in Serie A with Sampdoria before returning to fight for his place in Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United.
