Liverpool v QPR – Match Preview

Can the season hurry up and finish already? With this week’s QPR related news story (Remy), the end of the season cannot come soon enough. The club need to put this experience in the Premier League behind them and come back stronger next season.

I get the feeling Harry Redknapp wants a blank canvas to work from next season and he’s hinted that a major overhaul of players could happen. Although, i’m not a fan of constant signings and change in personel; this time it is necessary for the club if they are to improve and challenge next season.

As for today’s game, I cannot see anything other than a a Liverpool win. They are playing excellent football and seem to be a club on the up and could well surprise a few next season – not that a club like Liverpool challenging for silverware should be a surprise.

I hope Daniel Sturridge is kept quiet but I don’t see who will be able to perform that duty and fear a repeat of the Suarez v Hill duel earlier this season. If Remy isn’t selected then I don’t see us scoring and I think his exclusion would suit the soon to be retired Jamie Carragher who plays his last game for the club.

Liverpool Team News:

Steven Gerrard, Daniel Agger and Luis Suarez are all unavailable but Martin Skrtel could return.

Possible line up:

Reina

Johnson – Carragher – Coates – Enrique

Lucas – Henderson

Downing – Shelvey – Coutinho

Sturridge

QPR Team News:

Loic Remy is available despite his midweek arrest. Adel Taarabt is unavailable owing to the death of a family member.

Possible line up:

Cesar

Fabio – Onuoha – Hill -Traore

Townsend – Jenas – Granero – Mackie

Remy – Zamora

Player to watch: Clint Hill

Voted player the year for the second season in a row, Hill is a battler and no doubt a big fans favourite. His shortcomings as a footballer have been exploited occasionally over the last two seasons but he is forgiven largely because he is 100% committed. If more players had Hill’s attitude then we wouldn’t be in this situation.
