Italian striker Alessandro Pellicori has left QPR on loan until the end of the season.

It would be fair to say that his spell at Loftus Road hasn’t been as fruitful as desired, with limited opportunities for the striker to impress.

Now as expected he has signed for Serie B side Mantova until the end of the season, pending a possible permanent transfer.

Signed in the summer, Pellicori’s transfer was shrouded in mystery with the striker saying he’d signed a contract and manager Jim Magilton insisting he was still a trialist.

His position at Rangers has been made all the more clearer today as he heads back to his native Italy.

Rumours continue to persist about his compatriot Matteo Alberti as the club are reportedly searching for a club to pair him with.
