Following Queens Park Rangers’ draw with Sunderland, speculation surfaced in the press suggesting that chairman Tony Fernandes was planning replacing our gaffer.

With a now six game winless run, QPR are strangely placed in the Championship table as although we’ve slipped to 15th place in the table and are four points off the relegation zone, we are within two wins of the play off spots.

With speculation suggesting that Holloway could be replaced by Portsmouth manager Kenny Jackett, Fernandes took to Twitter that there was no truth to the rumours, and he backed Holloway for the future.

‘Zero facts about Ollie. Not even a second of thought over this. This is a project and we want stability. Ollie is doing a grand job. Every match we compete and we have been unlucky with injuries. Yet squad has done well. End is story (sic). Let`s focus on the pitch and transfer windows. Scouting, scouting, scouting. And young players coming through.’

Some will no doubt be pleased to hear that, others with a more cynical nature will wonder if that’s the dreaded chairman’s vote of confidence.
