QUEENS Park Rangers have today (Saturday) parted company with manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
The 44-year-old has today left QPR after just under a year at the helm in W12 – leaving off the back of a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
The Dutchman departs after 47 matches in charge with a mere 14 wins to his name.
Hasselbaink joined following the departure of Chris Ramsey and the interim management of Neil Warnock – this after a successful spell in charge of Burton Albion.
It took the manager nine fixtures to gain his first maximum – over Rotherham United at the New York Stadium. Further wins that season followed against Ipswich Town, Derby County, Birmingham City, Brentford, Charlton Athletic & Bristol City.
After a decent start to the campaign – back to back wins over Leeds United and Cardiff City, Rangers and Hasselbaink firmly hit the buffers with a staggering 6-0 home defeat to promotion hopefuls Newcastle United.
Despite a victory of promise away at Fulham, Rangers’ performances were certainly not crowd-pleasing and a recent home drubbing by neighbours Brentford only served to strengthen dissenting voices.
It appeared that the decision was already made before a spirited second half showing against Nottingham Forest this afternoon – ten men holding the Reds at bay before dominating the second half to collect a deserved point.
He leaves Rangers in 17th – six points from the relegation but six points away from the playoffs.
Let the madness begin.
