HARRY Redknapp is hoping for a positive reaction to his appointment and is impressed by the ability within the squad.

Out of the game since the end of last season, Redknapp made it known that he was keen to get back in the game – and he has been handed a two and a half year deal at Loftus Road.

He told QPR.co.uk: ‘I`m delighted to be back in the managerial hot-seat at QPR.

“When I spoke to the Shareholders and they told me about their plans I knew this was too good an opportunity to turn down.

“There`s no doubt there`s a lot of ability in the squad, but for one reason or another things haven`t gone as well as everyone expected since the start of the season.

“I can`t wait to get to work and get the results necessary to kick-start our season.”

Redknapp will look on from the stands as his new charges take to the field at Old Trafford, but no question his influence will be felt on the day.
