WATFORD have turned down a bid for top marksman Danny Graham

Queens Park Rangers have shown a reported interest in the Championship’s top scorer in recent weeks but Watford have been quick to dismiss their approach.

While no bids have been made official, various sectors of the press have made overtones that QPR have had their reported £2.5m bid rebuffed.

14 goals last season was followed by 27 this campaign as Graham turns into a target for Championship and Premier League clubs alike.

The Gateshead-born striker was released by Middlesbrough without so much of a whimper before resurrecting his career with Carlisle United.

Moving to Watford has further enhanced his reputation and the Hornets are now reportedly holding out for nearly double Rangers’ initial bid.

While a talented centre forward, it remains to be seen whether Rangers are willing to gamble on a man that has yet to prove himself at the top level.
