Karl Evans from Greater Manchester will referee his first QPR game as the R’s take on Barnsley.
Mr Evans is still relatively new to the refereeing circuit having been promoted to the National List in 2007.
His first game was between Darlington and Wrexham and sent of Quakers keeper Andy Oakes in a 2-0 home win.
While predominantly refereeing in League Two, the young official was also given seven games in League One and a solitary Championship fixture as Blackpool drew at home with the R’s opponents Barnsley.
Only 16 games for the referee came in 2008-09, but there was a higher ratio of League One clashes for the official to get his teeth into.
He caused controversy on both sides in a Championship fixture in September 2008 when both Colin Calderwood and Alan Pardew had a swipe at the inexperienced official.
Calderwood reacted to the sending off of youngster Matt Thornhill: ‘The sending-off should be a learning curve but unfortunately, Matt Thornhill doesn’t have to learn too much. Someone else does because Matt did nothing wrong – neither was a foul.
‘I know Matt Thornhill and there’s not a nasty bone in his body. It’s hard to get him to say anything let alone be aggressive.’
While then Charlton boss Alan Pardew also pulled no punches in the goalless draw: ‘My teams play with discipline.
‘We won’t change at this time but we’re going to have to review what happens to this referee and I’ll be interested to see what the report says and where he is next week.’
He has only one game to his name so far this season as Crewe beat Hereford in the League Two game in late August.
