The Robins have offered new deals to two players as they look to build on another positive season in the Championship.
Both Cole Skuse and Ivan Sproule have caught the eye this season for the Robins and Gary Johnson has seen it fit to hand them deals to stay at Ashton Gate.
Chairman Steve Lansdown told the Bristol Evening Post: ‘There is something a bit special about investing in young players and watching them come through into your first team.
‘Cole falls into that category and is a player who has made good progress at Championship level. He did particularly well in the latter part of last season and has been rewarded for that with the offer of a new contract.
‘Ivan is a very useful player to have in the squad. He has showed what he can do because of his electric pace.
‘He gives us another option and always works very hard.’
Bluebirds Chairman Peter Ridsdale is vehemently battling away interest in his players from the Premier League. The latest link comes as Ross McCormack is the subject of interest for Birmingham City following their promotion to the Premier League, but Cardiff are putting together a package to keep the free-scoring striker.
This coupled with Joe Ledley`s contract due to expire at the end of this season and it makes a nervy summer for fans of Wales` capital club. Ridsdale defended his situation on not handing Ledley a new deal.
He told Wales Online: “I don`t believe in breaking the bank for any player.
“Our responsibility is to manage the club`s financial resources sensibly. In the specific case of Joe Ledley, we can`t break the bank with a player who says that at this stage he doesn`t want to talk numbers or talk about a new contract.”
For all of the rumours surrounding possible inclusions to the Walkers Stadium as Milan Mandaric continues to throw his weight around in the transfer market, the latest rumour surrounds a possible departure.
Striker DJ Campbell has been linked with a move away from Leicester despite scoring the necessary goals to secure Blackpool`s safety in the league above last season.
He is rumoured to be a target for Coventry City and his boyhood club Queens Park Rangers as he brings a troubled time at the Walkers Stadium to a close.
Despite Doncaster owner John Ryan telling the media to the contrary, Nottingham Forest are being rumoured by the Daily Mirror to have launched a £1.5m move for Rovers defender Matthew Mills.
The former Manchester City player has been rumoured along with midfielder Brian Stock with a move to Birmingham City but the Tricky Trees have emerged as the latest contenders for the defenders signature.
Forest are also tracking the progress of Blackpool defender Alex John-Baptiste but they face competition in Sheffield Wednesday for the former Mansfield defender.
Meanwhile closer to home and Chris Cohen is set for contract talks at the City Ground as a reward for a gruelling season with Forest.
Cohen has been attracting interest from clubs around the Championship but Davies is hopeful to keep him by offering him a new contract: ‘I have spoken to every player at the club about who is staying, who is going and about their contribution,’ Davies told the Nottingham Evening Post.
‘We have spoken about what the future holds. There are one or two people we need to look at (in terms of contracts) and Chris Cohen is one of those.”
The Posh may lose goalkeeper Mark Tyler as he steps up his desire to play first team football. The goalkeeper has played second fiddle to young prodigy Joe Lewis and is desperate for first team action.
The keeper who spent some time on loan at Bury told the BBC: ‘There’s been a bit of interest so we’ll have to wait and see.
‘I want to play football now, so it’s down to me and the club to sort it out. We’ll see what happens in the summer.’

With Sam Allardyce making his feelings clear with regards to Gallagher`s future at the club he will turn to plucky Preston North End to put up the money and take him away from Ewood Park.
The Scotsman has previously been on loan with the Lilywhites in the 2007-08 season, where he missed a penalty against QPR in a 0-0 draw at Deepdale.
Veteran defender Michael Gray has delighted boss Brian Laws by penning a deal at Hillsborough following a successful loan spell.
Laws told their official website: ‘I am delighted that Michael Gray has committed to the club for another year.
‘He is a great pro and supremely fit for a player of his age and experience. Michael is an inspiration to our younger players and brings many qualities to our squad.”
The 34-year old former Sunderland and Blackpool defender has signed a one year deal with the Owls.
