Flavio Briatore steps down as QPR chairman with the Mittal Family increasing their shareholding in the club.

The former chairman has left his position at Queens Park Rangers with Ishan Saksena being appointed in his stead.

The Mittal Family have thus increased their shares at Loftus Road, but there is no word yet on the shareholding of Mr Briatore.

The controversial Italian has remained a shareholder at the club alongside Bernie Ecclestone, but this signals his intention to take a step back.

In his time at Loftus Road, Mr Briatore has overseen the reign of six managers in his brief stint at the helm – with Mick Harford and Gareth Ainsworth taking caretaker charge twice.

This will remain one of his main legacies at the club, while unquestionably he helped the club out of its previous financial rut.
