Blackstock has gone on record as preferring to play in a 4-4-2 formation with a striking partner. He told the local newspaper, the London Informer, that he would “prefer to hunt in a pair.” But he also admitted that, despite playing with Patrick Agyemang against Birmingham recently, in his favoured 4-4-2 system, he was at a loss to explain how the team had lost that particular game.
Blackstock admitted, however, that he was not sure if 4-4-2 was the best or even the right formation for the team. “Whether it`s the best formation for the team I don`t know, but any formation would be good if we were getting the results,” he told the paper.
Blackstock has not scored since netting the rebound from Buzsaky`s free-kick in the home game against Blackpool. Dex has scored 6 goals altogether this season and is amongst the front runners in the Championship for leading scorer. However, it is probably time that he started scoring again – on Saturday against Forest would be greatly appreciated!
Is Blackstock right and should QPR be playing 4-4-2 or a different formation which would probably mean that he would play up front on his own?
We want to hear your thoughts!
Blackstock admits he prefers 4-4-2!

Only a week or so ago he was ‘happy in his lone role’ – I don’t know what he wants!
regular first team place …..thats what he wants
True, Boxer – I’d forgotten that little gem!! Obviously he’s reading about Dowie wanting/needing new strikers – so suddenly he’s looking out for his own back, perhaps? If he just scored regularly that would do far more good for him, imo!!
bit harsh to it’s probably time for him to start scoring again, he’s only gone one game without a goal. Also I watched this interview on qpr world with blackstock and he never said he preferred 4-4-2 so the headline is a little misleading.
I thought that he didn’t mention it specifically, but alluded to it a couple of times.
Dexter has done well so far this season in terms of overall play – I think he perhaps could have got more goals that his chances have warrented! A few disappointments, but by and large has exceeded all expectations for me!
I was under the impression that he had given a separate interview to the newspaper after the Birmingham defeat – I also heard the QPRWorld interview and they seemed to me to be different! But either way, the fella needs to start scoring again 😉
