On Monday evening Queens Park Rangers’ Under 23 side were in action once again and we ran riot over Crystal Palace’s youngsters to secure a 5-0 victory.
It was a lightning quick start from Paul Hall’s side as we scored three times in the opening ten minutes before eventually taking the comfortable victory at Harlington.

Deshane Dalling (2), Aramide Oteh, trialist Sebastien Bassong, and Ilias Chair were on the scoresheet and there were further positives for the side as Grant Hall and Sean Goss got additional match minutes under their belts as they continue working their way back to full fitness following their respective injuries.
Some fans will already be aware, others maybe not, but I’ve given the clue away by already mentioning Bassong and this was another run out for him at that level for the club. Originally described as simply helping him to get, and keep fit, as he looks for another club, the tweak in language to ‘trialist’ jumped out at me, as QPR could benefit from more experienced depth in defence and the 32-year-old has that with over 300 professional games under his belt.
Having started with French side Metz as a youngster, he then played for Newcastle, Tottenham and Norwich, as well as having loan spells out with Wolves and Watford – and Spurs did shell out £8million for him back in 2009, even if the spell didn’t go as he’d have hoped.
If a sensible deal wage wise can be agreed, even if only until January and he looks for pastures new, I wouldn’t be against it.
