Here are 5 things we learned from the 3-2 defeat away against German Division 4 side Lokomotive Leipzig on Sunday.
1 – Ollie fielded a youthful team.
Ingram, Furlong, Hamalainen, Phillips (Kakay 70), Freeman, Cousins (Eze 60), Grego-Cox, Goss (Luongo 46), Manning, Robinson, Wszolek.
2 – One of the reasons for pre-season games is to get the players prepared and match fit prior to the start of the new season. If and when a couple of the senior players are side-lined through injury or suspension how on earth can Ollie rely on cover from his youthful subs?

3 – Ollie post-match.
‘I don’t like losing matches and nor do my players.’

How many times are we going to hear something similar this season?
4 – We score 2 but the opposition score 3!
A leaky defence is going to cost us precious Championship points. So what do we do? Strengthen the backline or go and buy an out-an-out goal-machine? Either that or we cross our fingers and rely on lady luck.
5 – Get used to it?
Between August and May 2018 should we get used to similar score lines and are we looking at a relegation dog-fight even before the season kicks off?
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again – my glass is currently half full. What’s yours?
Have the faith…
Come on you R’s!
