CHARLIE Austin netted his 100th league goal to see Queens Park Rangers edge out already-relegated Barnsley and have three points under their belt going into the playoffs.

Austin side-footed home when found in the six-yard box before Kevin Doyle’s cross was turned home by Jean Yves Mvoto barely seconds later to give the Tykes that sinking feeling.

Chris O’Grady reduced the arrears when he ghosted between his marker and powered home before a fine solo effort from Yun Suk Young saw him weave between the Barnsley back-line and power home.

Player of the Season O’Grady wasn’t done there as he powered home a rasping drive from distance, a strike that belied his team’s indifferent performance.

Rangers can take a victory in the playoffs where they will meet Wigan Athletic, while Barnsley rebuild for life in League One while trying to hold on to the stand-out O’Grady.
