As soon as former Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin made his emotional post-game interview after seeing his goal for Southampton ruled out against Watford last weekend, it was almost inevitable that it was a matter of time before some QPR fans called for him to return to Loftus Road.
???? ANGRY AUSTIN ????
"It is a joke! We play in the Premier League – the officials have cost us two points!"
— Sky Sports Premier League (@SkySportsPL) November 10, 2018
Those calls have obviously taken place, but there is another potential strand to factor in given Southampton’s poor start to life in the Premier League in 2018/19. We, on the other hand, have bounced back fantastically well following our poor start and with the November international break in full flow we are sat in tenth place in the Championship table, only two points from the Play-Off spots.
Too early for chicken counting obviously, but some to wonder whether come the end of the campaign whether we may switch divisions and should that happen, calls for Austin’s return and the potential for that to happen, are obviously increased.
You got to love @chazaustin10 he says it how it is. Come back to QPR we miss you

That it. We’re going up.
Then Southampton get relegated, and we get Charlie Austin back.
