Tonight, Rs` fans finally had confirmation of the news that we had, well really, been waiting for. Neil Warnock is now our manager – full-time (on a 3 ½ year contract) with Mick Harford and Tony Coton stepping down from their respective roles as Caretaker and Assistant Manager (no Assistant Manager has yet been named). The official website has already been updated – under the Staff Directory!

Sky Sports News has now caught up with the news and they have quoted Warnock`s comments we have probably all read on the official QPR website. But they have also spoken to Dave Thomas, of “A Kick Up the Rs” fanzine fan. Not that he speaks for us all, but this is what Thomas had to say on the appointment:

“Obviously he comes with a lot of baggage. Personally speaking, I`ll wait and see. I`d like to think that perhaps we get the good side of Neil Warnock rather than the unsavoury side. Obviously his reputation precedes him.”

Thomas went on to note that: “He will get the backing of QPR fans. He`ll be given a great reception and I think – I hope – that he`ll do a good job for us. I think he will.”

Interestingly, Warnock will be taking us both to Sheffield United and Crystal Palace before the end of this season – that`ll be fun! Who`s going to come, hey? Watch those fireworks?!!
