With Paul Hall talking about the youngsters, their futures need to be discussed – Debate

|

They have to go somewhere, but where is best for them?

U23 boss Paul Hall recently spoke to the club website about the latest flux of players that have left the club on loan, and in that interview, he talked about the challenges that they are going to face when they take the step up from youth football to senior:

“It will be huge. They are playing against men now and the intensity levels go up again; the risk taking goes up again.”

I suppose the question is, do you want to see more of them go out, or less?

It’s a balancing act at the end of the day. Yes, they are going to be training at worse training facilities than ourselves, but they will be getting first-team football, and as Hall says, the increase in intensity that they’ll be having to deal with is only going to increase, which will help their development, both mentally and physically.

And whilst the January transfer window is fast approaching us, and with talk soon to begin about who the club might bring in or let leave, let’s not forget that there may be a number of them who can do a job for the first team at some point in the not too distant future. We don’t want to end up in a situation like Charlton Athletic have recently where they weren’t able to fill the substitutes bench.

So I leave the question up to you, where would you like to see QPR’s promising youngsters take their talents in the coming months? Should they be kept at the Imperial College Sports Ground in Harlington, or should they be allowed to make a move down the league in order to get some first-team football under their belts?

Where would you rather talented youngsters be
