Why should we have to suffer??

QPR have never been a ‘big club’ and certainly that has been largely demonstrated over the last few years with a two year stint in what is now called League 1. Ask Nottingham Forest about it, they’ll tell you!

What i don’t understand is why teams like QPR have to play league games on the same night as the likes of Arsenal and Man Utd are playing in the Champions League?

Every club has a ‘floating crowd’ and i estimate this to be approx 2,000 in Rangers case. These are the fans who will turn up mainly on a Saturday if we are playing a ‘big’ team or because the side has won their last 3 matches and because of the positive aspect it seems a good bet to watch a good game of football down at Loftus Road.

Last night was an evening match and you would always expect a slightly lower crowd bearing in mind the younger fans like my son have to be in bed before 8pm. However, last night there was a difference of nearly 5,000 from those that witnessed the 3-3 draw to Norwich. That is a large amount of fans. Ok, i know Norwich sold far more away tickets than Derby and i also know that for some it is too expensive to pay twice in one week to watch QPR but that is still a big drop in 3 days bearing in mind we were until last night undefeated under John Gregory’s reign.

My main concern is that given the choice there is probably a good 1000 or so fans who chose to not rush down their dinner or rush from work to watch Rangers last night but instead fancied a night in watching Manchester United and Celtic etc on Sky whilst flicking between channels 401 and 405 between 8pm and 9.50pm.

Surely there are enough weeks during the season when something can be arranged so that there are not the clashes. What about next week. Are QPR playing next Tuesday? Could we have played next Tuesday? Are Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool or Chelsea playing in the Champions League next week??
The amount of revenue being lost by clubs like Rangers must add up to quite a tidy sum by the end of the season and who benefits……..The Big Boys!!!

This has to stop or a greater share of the profits should be handed out to teams outside the Premiership. Come on….let’s be fair!!!

What do you think? Is it right or wrong?
