Vital QPR`s Nik runs the rule over Nottingham Forest with a factual representation of their recent history.

The club, formed in 1865, currently reside at the City Ground, which has a capacity of over 30,000. The Reds, as they are affectionately known by their fans, are fierce rivals with near neighbours Derby County .

Forest have started the season poorly, and currently find themselves five points adrift at the bottom of the Championship. The away form has been a real problem for the club, losing every single one of their five away games so far.

Looking at the squad, it`s hard to understand why. Boss Colin Calderwood strengthened his squad in the summer, with the signing of star man Robert Earnshaw. Andy Cole returned to his boyhood town, signing a one-year contract after his release from Sunderland .

In addition, Forest managed to hold on to Nathan Tyson, and in Lewis McGugan, have one of the Championship`s hottest properties in the squad. Highly rated young stars Paul Anderson and Lee Martin have been signed on season-long loans from Liverpool and Manchester United respectively.

It`s quite amazing to think what has gone wrong with Forest recently. A club that has twice won the European Cup, found themselves in the third tier of English football just years later, becoming the first European-Cup winning team to be relegated that far down. Indeed it was QPR who sent Forest down, winning 2-1 at Loftus Road, thanks to ex QPR player John Curtis` own goal, and Marc Bircham`s screamer. Eugen Bopp pulled a goal back on the day, but it was not enough for the Reds.

Having lost in the play-off semi finals to Yeovil in the 06-07 Season, Forest completed a return to the Championship, getting revenge on Yeovil with a 3-2 win at the City Ground.

The poor start to this season`s campaign mean that Forest will have to improve substantially in order to stay afloat in the Championship. However, there is no doubting that the quality is there, and it would be a grave mistake for the R`s to underestimate Forest , despite their awful away record.
