Rangers` opponents on Saturday afternoon will be none other than Cardiff City. The Welsh club, who play at Ninian Park, are known as the Bluebirds and have had a very impressive start to this season, currently finding themselves in 6th place in the Championship table.

Having beaten you know who in the Division Two Play-off Final in 2003, Cardiff have established themselves as a decent Championship side. Dave Jones took over the reigns of the club from ex-manager Lennie Lawrence in 2005 and, since then, the club has finished comfortably in mid-table on a regular basis. The 2005-06 season brought a lot of hope, as Cardiff started the season brilliantly, before fading away to finish in 13th place, as the season came to somewhat of an anti-climax. Last season was similar to the one that it had followed, as Cardiff once again finished in mid-table, this time finishing 12th.

Looking at Cardiff`s squad, it becomes apparent that talent certainly is there. The Bluebirds` squad boasts the likes of Michael Chopra, U.S.A international Eddie Johnson, the highly rated Joe Ledley, and also Paul Parry. In addition, young left back Kyle McNaughton is seen as one for the future, and striker Ross McCormack has started this season explosively, with 11 League goals to his name already. The foundations are certainly there, and if Cardiff were to add a couple more names to their squad in January, there is no reason why they couldn`t finish in the Play-offs, where they currently find themselves.

Saturday afternoon will certainly provide a tough task for the R`s.
