A mere ten days ago, QPR were sitting pretty in the top six: 5th to be precise – a play-off position if the season was over in November! We were being touted as “form team” of the moment, with our manager`s name being put forward as contender for “manager of the month” and Adel Taarabt being given the same honour for “player of the month” (ok, so that was back in October – but the good times were still rolling – although slowing down a bit – in November!)

And now, merely 8 days in to December and, after a series of disappointing displays and even more disappointing results, we have tumbled down the league. Not quite “form team” at the momnt, are we?

Tonight, after a fairly full Championship programme, Rangers sit in 12th position. Our goal difference, which looked so glorious a few weeks ago, has also been sorely affected by our recent performances. We do have 28 points – but now a goal difference of just +4.

A few more bad results like the last two and we could drop in to the bottom half! And a great mate will be singing – very loudly – that we still need 24 points to guarantee us safety!! (You know who you are . . .!!)

OK, I am not moaning – honestly – just pointing out bald facts which have arisen as a direct result of some pretty disappointing recent results. Fact: we have conceded 10 goals in three games having scored only 4 in reply. But then again, look at some of the results tonight! Like one of our threads here says – it`s a crazy league with Leicester losing at home to Bristol City (1-3), West Brom (out next opponents) losing at home to Cardiff (0-2), Middlesbrough losing at home to Blackpool (0-3) – need I go on?

So we now face a daunting trip away to West Brom next Monday (another game live on Sky – heaven help us!!) Is it so daunting with them losing at home tonight? If Cardiff can do it – why can`t QPR? (And don`t say because we`re playing like a bunch of plonkers right now, please!!)

I have no doubt that we are experiencing a mere glitch in proceedings and that things will turn around again – hopefully sooner rather than later, of course! Many fans have started the rounds of calling for a variety of heads to roll – from players to manager alike – come on, fellas, this really is merely a glitch!

But we do have to face up to the position we are in according to the league table. And, while I did not go overboard when we were hob-nobbing with the other play-off placed contenders; nor am I all doom and gloom now we are down to xxth. It was fun whilst it lasted – it will be fun when we turn this around and hot-foot it straight back up the table.

But that`s me – what do you think?
