‘What a pity’, ‘Better than any we have’ – Lots of QPR fans aren’t happy with this transfer

Plenty of QPR fans are not happy after goalkeeper Seny Dieng has had his loan deal at Doncaster Rovers extended until the end of the season.

With Rangers having a few of their own goalkeeper problems this season, many thought that Dieng could be reinstated into the squad this January, however, he will now be staying in Doncaster until the summer.

Neither ‘keeper has exactly shined bright in West London this season. Joe Lumley has been favoured to Liam Kelly for the majority of the campaign, with both performers being less than inspiring.

According to WhoScored, Joe Lumley has an average match rating of just 6.09/10 from his 20 games this season; Kelly has averaged 6.22/10 from his six games between the sticks.

Seny Dieng

As the QPR Twitter page announced the departure, plenty of fans got in touch to express their discontent – as you can read below…

Seny Dieng has been having a pretty solid season in Yorkshire, according to WhoScored. Their algorithm has the Swiss-born goalkeeper as averaging a 6.99/10 – making him the third most consistent player for Darren Moore’s team.

Given that QPR’s young goalkeepers haven’t had the greatest of seasons, it will be an interesting development to see whether or not that is an area they will target in the window.
