Leicester City midfielder Richie Wellens states his side’s intention to come to Loftus Road and set their stall out defensively.

The Foxes have built their success thus far on a strong backbone with only 11 goals conceded in the Championship so far.

Wellens, a former Manchester United trainee, admitted that QPR will provide a tough test to the Foxes defensive record, and the visitors intend to defend properly from the off.

Speaking to lcfc.co.uk the combative midfielder is looking to grind out another win of the ilk of Leicester’s slender win over Reading on Monday night.

‘They are a tough, organised team with good players,’ said Wellens.

‘They have a couple who have played in the Premier League, they have a goal threat, but while we will set our stall out to defend, we are capable of scoring goals as well so it should be a good game.’

The former Blackpool, Oldham Athletic and Doncaster Rovers man has been in fine form since signing for the Foxes in the summer for a fee rising to £1.2m.

His performances alongside stand-in captain Matt Oakley have impressed the Foxes faithful as they occupy a playoff place with an opportunity to climb joint top this evening.
