WEST Bromwich Albion have announced that they have rejected a second offer for Peter Odemwingie from Queens Park Rangers

Rangers made an improved offer, reported to be in the region of £3.25m for the Nigerian forward, but Albion have had no qualms in rejected the revised bid.

Odemwingie’s recent outburst on Twitter and in the media at large will cost him dear as Albion look to take action against the want-away forward.

Sporting and Technical Director, Richard Garlick confirmed on wba.co.uk: ‘QPR have made a second, improved offer for Peter, which we have turned down.

‘As we have repeatedly stated, we have no need or desire to sell our core players.’

While this may be posturing somewhat, a deal may still be there to be struck and may go down to the nail-biting moments on deadline day.

The forward has made his position clear and has requested to leave the club, but Albion remain firm on keeping hold of a ‘core player’ – despite Odemwingie playing second fiddle for large parts of the season.
