Vital QPR understands that Ben Watson is poised to sign a long-term loan deal with Cardiff City.
The former Queens Park Rangers loanee whose spell in W12 came to an end today (Thursday) had an option to extend his deal, but Cardiff are understood to be front-runners for his signature.
The Bluebirds’ injury woe sees them searching for another midfielder and Watson has been a target of Dave Jones for some time.
It would bring down the curtain on an indifferent spell for Watson in W12, that certainly doesn’t sit in line with the hysteria surrounding his signature.
Watson has featured 16 times for QPR – scoring two goals and being shown two red cards in successive games.
His initial partnership with Martin Rowlands then Gavin Mahon appearing to be prospering, while recently in partnering Mikele Leigertwood his talents have waned significantly.
