Former QPR midfielder Simon Walton has moved to Bloomfield Road on loan for the rest of the season.
The Tangerines have made a move for the Plymouth Argyle man in a bid to stay in the Championship, a deal that is somewhat perplexing considering the close proximity of the two clubs in the table.
Walton had previously been linked with a move to Crewe Alexandra but the move fell through owing to the 21-year-old`s refusal to move.
He was placed on the transfer list after receiving a senseless red card against Barnsley and Blackpool have capitalised on his misfortune by bolstering a midfield already bursting at the seams.
Walton made only five appearances for Rangers after signing under the tenure of John Gregory, his time at Loftus Road being hampered with a broken leg picked up in a pre-season victory against Fulham.
