Former QPR boss Gary Waddock tells his players at Aldershot to go out and prove a point following promotion back to the Football League.

After a 16 year exile Gary Waddock took Aldershot Town back into the football league, following his sacking from Queens Park Rangers. The midfielder who made in excess of 200 appearances for QPR took the Shots up at the first attempt, securing top spot with 101 points bouncing back from the disappointment of leaving Rangers.

‘All of us have had knockbacks.” Waddock told the BBC.

‘I’m sure there are a few players who want to prove they are capable of playing at that level.’

‘Things didn’t go according to plan for me as a manager (at QPR). I’ve got one or two things to prove. There’s a positive feel about the place.’


Waddock presided over 23 games for the R`s, winning 4, drawing 8 and losing 11 matches, with a win percentage of 17%.
