Defender Moritz Volz is on the verge of penning a deal with Queens Park Rangers, Vital QPR understands.

The German impressed boss Mick Harford despite the 3-0 friendly defeat to Reading and the club and player are discussing terms over a deal until the end of the season.

Harford is keen to bolster the defensive department, as has been shown by the arrival of Matt Hill and the renewal of ‘keeper Carl Ikeme’s loan.

The former Fulham full-back had a brief spell in the Championship with Ipswich Town, and despite training with German club Schalke is poised to pen a deal in W12 in the coming days.
