Iain Dowie was delighted with the capture of Samuel Di Carmine on a season long-loan from Fiorentina.

‘Samuel is a young striker with potential,’ A buoyant Dowie told QPR.co.uk

‘I went out to see him play in Italy and I thought he did very well. He leads the line well and uses his body very well for someone so young.”

‘A season long loan provides us with a good opportunity to have a closer look at him.”

As discussed in his time in the Sky Sports studio, fitness would play an important part in Dowie`s regime, and that, according to Dowie is something the new recriuit will have to adapt to.

‘Technically, he looks fine; he might take a little bit of time to adjust to the physical rigours of Championship football, but I’m sure he’s capable of that.”

Di Carmine became the R`s fifth summer transfer and Dowie`s third in total. He joins the likes of compatriot Matteo Alberti and Argentine Emmanuel Ledesma in W12.

‘What we want is a good under-belly of young players at the Club. When you’re building for the future that’s vitally important.’

With Gianni Paladini warning of further spending to come, quoting the figure of three players, how long are we to wait before the next two are announced?
