Rowan Vine spoke with great excitement about the nature and style of QPR’s play under Jim Magilton.

The R’s front-man bagged his first goal of the season in the 4-1 thrashing of Reading, the first time the R’s have beaten the Royals at home since 1967.

That extended a home unbeaten run to 13 stretching back to last season, and striker Vine believes that while Rangers are hitting red-hot form, there is still more to come from Magilton’s side.

‘We train as we play,’ Vine told QPR.co.uk.

‘We’re really starting to reap the benefits of everything we’ve done since the first day of pre-season training.

‘Some of the football we’re playing at the moment is unbelievable and it’s quite frightening when you look at the players who are currently out of the side for one reason or another.

‘It’s as good as I’ve known it at QPR in terms of the quality of football we’re producing – probably the best I’ve ever been involved with in my career.’

The former Birmingham City front-man was keen to praise the boss Jim Magilton, and the attacking mentality that he has instilled in his side.

Indeed fans are enjoying some of the best football the club has experienced in recent memory, something akin to the brief tenure of Luigi De Canio in 2007-08.

In a string of positive comments Vine was also delighted with the supporters against Reading, who really were the 12th then 11th man, to carry the R’s through to victory.

‘They’ve been absolutely magnificent,’ Vine continued.

‘The fans were going mental from the first minute last night and the atmosphere once we went ahead was crazy.

‘There’s no better place to play in the Championship when Loftus Road is rocking like it is at the moment.’

The weight was visibly lifted off Vine’s shoulders, when after spurning two glorious chances he finally slammed home his first of the season.

Previously Vine had looked demotivated and forlorn, a feeling that seemed to grow with every missed opportunity, but both he and R’s fans will be hoping that he has now turned a corner.

This will now give manager Jim Magilton a selection headache going into the game against Derby County this weekend, with Patrick Agyemang and Jay Simpson also striking against the Royals.
