Gregory Vignal has not been offered a contract by Queens Park Rangers despite the R’s left-back woes.

The Frenchman featured in two friendlies a day apart from one another at Wycombe and Kettering, but reports today have suggested that the former Liverpool man has not been offered a deal.

With Queens Park Rangers announcing their squad for Southampton tomorrow without the inclusion of the full-back, it seemed almost a formality that a deal was not forthcoming.

The club have yet to comment on the situation by the BBC have confirmed that Gary Borrowdale is likely to be first choice unless a replacement can be found in the meantime.

There are rumours afoot that Magilton may dip into the loan market to temporarily fill the void left by Damien Delaney`s absence.

This news is made all the more puzzling by assistant manager John Gorman`s comments only the other day: “We spoke and he said he’s willing to come here so we can have a look at him, although I don’t need to look at him because I know he’s a quality player.’

One thing that is made certain is that the answer will not be Vignal, and the R`s will have to extend their search to fill the void in their otherwise firm back-line.
